Etherstack is an independent specialist licensor of wireless communications software to commercial, public safety and defence radio and radio network equipment manufacturers globally. Etherstack has been developing wireless protocol stacks for the world's leading public safety wireless equipment manufacturers for over 10 years. The company is a leading SDR waveform developer and has won multiple waveform contracts including a major development for the Swedish Defense Ministry related to the international program of the U.S. DoD JTRS program.
On the basis of its waveform expertise and experience in commercial cellular soft-switching, Etherstack has widened its product range to include encryption and information assurance products and a comprehensive all-IP based radio network software solution. Combining these technologies allows Etherstack's clients to build complete end-to-end radio communications systems that take unprecedented advantage of the features offered by radio standards, and that maximise the security and reliability required for public safety and military communications.
As the company has long championed interoperability both between radio users and radio equipment, it bases its products on open published interfaces wherever possible so that flexible systems can also be built using equipment from different manufacturers.
Etherstack is headquartered in London, and has offices in New York, Sydney, Yokohama, Barcelona and Berlin. In-Q-Tel initially invested in Etherstack, in August, 2007.
