Accelerating Innovation for the Intelligence Community

Our Achievements

In-Q-Tel is unique in the marketplace as a bridge between private sector innovation and the toughest technical challenges facing the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). We understand complex customer requirements and we constantly survey the leading edge of the commercial and research marketplaces in order to identify, advance, and deliver strategic technology solutions to the IC.

Because the ultimate measure of our value is the successful implementation of technology solutions for mission-critical IC challenges, IQT considers our top priority to be successful technology transfer, which results from linking our insight into the IC’s hard problems with innovative solutions discovered in the marketplace and adapted to meet specific needs.

To achieve our goal of finding, adapting, and delivering technologies of strategic interest to our customers – the CIA and the broader U.S. Intelligence Community – IQT has:

  • Delivered more than 140 technology solutions
  • Engaged with more than 100 companies, and more than 10 universities and research labs in the U.S. and Canada
  • Cultivated a network of more than 200 venture capital firms, and 100 labs and research organizations
  • Reviewed more than 6300 business plans

Measures of Success

The ultimate measure of IQT success is customer adoption of mission-critical solutions. To achieve this success, IQT's operations include:

  • Delivering value to the IC through successful deployment of high impact, innovative technologies.
  • Building strong portfolio companies that will continue to deliver, support and innovate technologies for the IC
  • Returning any financial returns to operational costs to fund further investments into new technologies to benefit the IC.

IQT is also able to strengthen situational awareness in the commercial and entrepreneurial markets regarding the technology needs of the U.S. Intelligence Community while scouring the markets for new technologies for IC challenges.

These aspects of market insight and knowledge sharing join technology transfer measurements as the metrics for evaluating IQT's success.
